Malaysians are Car Owners Despite High Cost

Social media users argue that many Malaysian townships are designed around car ownership rather than pedestrian needs. In some areas, even a short trip to the nearest store requires driving, as housing developments are often located between highways and lack sidewalks. This car-centric planning reinforces reliance on private vehicles, making alternatives like walking or public transport impractical.

Not to mention that for many, owning a car is the bare minimum to be able to have a job as some offices and/or homes may not be accessible to public transportation.
