Malaysia will chair the ASEAN and ABAC-ASEAN Caucus next year, but the 10-member bloc will continue to work together under the concept of centrality, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He praised the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) for promoting ASEAN-focused initiatives.

Malaysia’s Leadership in ASEAN and ABAC-ASEAN Caucus Highlighted

The ABAC-ASEAN Caucus, inaugurated by ABAC Indonesia in November 2023, aims to strengthen regional cooperation and economic unity. Anwar emphasized the importance of Malaysia’s business community taking the lead and highlighted the region’s unique peacefulness and rapid economic growth. He also stressed the need for digitalization and addressing urban and rural poverty.
