Man sparks backlash after claiming he can support two wives on RM1,500 salary

1 min read

PETALING JAYA: A man has drawn heavy criticism online after claiming he can afford to practise polygamy despite earning only RM1,500 a month. In a viral WhatsApp post, the man said he planned to marry another woman because he was “bored” with his first wife of two years, whom he accused of neglecting her appearance after childbirth.

Two wives?

He added that his basic salary and overtime income were enough to support two households, prompting widespread debate on social media. Many users questioned his financial capability, noting that even single-income couples struggle to meet living costs. Others urged him to be more responsible, reminding that marriage requires fairness and proper financial stability, not mere desire.
