A man beats woman, robs her behind a bank. He is arrested now

A man suspected of beating and robbing a woman in Jalan Gaya, here, was recently arrested by the police in an incident at about 6.30 on Feb 22, in the morning when the victim, a bank employee, was beaten before being robbed near a hotel last Friday. The 50-year-old victim was reported to have suffered an injury to the head as a result of being hit with a stick and lost around RM5,000 including a smartphone and cash.

Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief, Superintendent Kalsom Idris said, as a result of preliminary investigations when the incident occurred the victim was walking to go to work. However, the victim was suddenly approached by a man and hit with a stick from behind. The victim tried to defend herself but the suspect hit the victim several times. The suspect then pulled the victim’s handbag before fleeing,” he said in a statement.
