IPOH – A tragic road accident claimed one life when a Nissan Vanette van burst into flames following a four-vehicle collision at Kampung Batu 40 Lempur, Manong, near Kuala Kangsar, Perak, today. The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak received the distress call at 3.16pm and rushed firefighters from the Kuala Kangsar station to the scene.
Fiery Van Crash
The crash involved the van, a Hino one-tonne lorry, a Honda Civic, and a Toyota Wish MPV. A 32-year-old local man was trapped and confirmed dead in the burning van by Ministry of Health officials. Two other van passengers, aged 16 and 19, sustained injuries, along with the lorry driver. Five occupants from the other vehicles escaped unharmed. Firefighting operations concluded by 5.55pm.
