A 29-year-old man, Abdul Hamid Mohd Taufek, tragically died on December 30 after being stung by ground wasps while cleaning his home in Kampung Sungai Semungkis, Batu 14, Hulu Langat. He was preparing the house for his wedding later this month.
Wasp Stings
Friend Khairul Affendi Rahim said Abdul Hamid was servicing an air conditioner when he disturbed a wasp nest in the outdoor compressor. He rushed to a neighbour’s house before collapsing and was pronounced dead at Klinik Kesihatan Batu 14 despite CPR. Existing sinus issues and seafood allergy may have worsened the reaction. Post-mortem results are pending.
