On February 22, the Keningau Magistrate’s Court sentenced a man, Ridal Abdul Kadir, to 10 months in prison and a fine of RM6,000 for the offense of using a fake identity card to work for for 29 years as a teacher at a school in Tenom, Sabah. Ridal was also told that failure to pay the prescribed RM6,000 fine would result in him being subject to an additional six months in prison. He however paid the fine.

Fake Malaysian ID
Based on the facts of the case, a document inspection was conducted in the parking area of the school teacher’s quarters at 11.30 am, 29 January last. The accused was then arrested on suspicion of having a fake identity card numbered 700711-12-5369 with the name Ridal Bin Abdul Kadir.
