Marriage Office is closed?

A man claiming to be a Palestinian says he and his Indonesian fiancé have been trying to get married in Malaysia where they live and work for over one year now.

“We’re both “Muslims” and so we went to JAWI who said marriage for expatriates is closed since March 2020.

“We reached out to all JAWI branches (KL, Selangor, and Putrajaya) but none of them will help.” They asked users on Facebook to give them some advice on how to get married in Malaysia with all the offices closed.

Most of the responses from netizens are they should approach the respective embassies of their countries or they should simply register for marriage in Indonesia.
