Mattel has recalled its new Wicked movie-themed dolls after a printing error directed buyers to an adult website. The error, discovered on the dolls’ packaging, led to an urgent recall in the U.S.
Mattel Recalls Dolls After Packaging Error Links to Adult Site
The company apologised and urged customers to discard the packaging or obscure the link. Mattel emphasised the misprint was inappropriate for children and that they deeply regret the mistake.
The Wicked collection, featuring characters from the Broadway musical, was highly anticipated. The first part of the two-part Wicked film, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, releases on November 22.
