Yesterday, Maybank had a system-wide shutdown and netizens have brought the issue to Twitter. It was mentioned that some accounts had RM0 as their bank balance and some users were unable to make transactions for a period of time.
Maybank has apologized for their online banking’s slowness and netizens were not too happy about that. Some netizens sarcastically asked if the bank only hired interns as their system and technical officers. Maybank’s APP has been having issues for the past few months. However, most users were experiencing having a balance of RM0 in their bank accounts, which wiped out all their savings on the screen.
Some netizens mentioned that Maybank automatically deducted RM71 from their account to pay off some university bills. Unfortunately, the university claims that they had never deducted that particular amount of money from students. Some users also experienced double charging for their transactions when making purchases.
