MCA Vice-President Datuk Ir Lawrence Low has called on DAP to propose practical solutions for abolishing tolls, a promise made by its leaders in past elections. He criticised DAP, which now holds 40 parliamentary seats, for misleading voters if no action follows. Low insisted DAP leaders should apologise publicly if they fail to fulfil their pledges. This comes after Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi told Parliament that abolishing tolls would be extremely costly and instead suggested that toll rate reductions are more feasible. Low stressed that amid economic uncertainty, the rakyat deserve honesty and better welfare support.
