PETALING JAYA, July 30 — The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) risks long-term political marginalisation if it chooses to exit Barisan Nasional (BN), analysts caution. With just one parliamentary seat and no role in the current unity government, MIC has voiced dissatisfaction, likening its position to that of an “unwanted guest.” The party claims it was promised a Cabinet post after the 2022 general election, a promise it says was not fulfilled. Despite growing internal frustration, leaving BN is seen as a high-risk move that could leave the party struggling to regain relevance for years to come.
