The topic of minimum wage increasing in Malaysia is a much welcomed idea among a number of Malaysians. However, some observed that this may not solve the underlying issue of the standard base rate pay. The salary of a fresh graduate has still not increased as much. 

Minimum wage increment, base salary remains 

Netizens are surprised that fresh graduates are recommended to make around RM2,700 to RM3,500 for engineers and lawyers. An X user adds that these salary rates are not even US$1,000 a month, which is significantly low when compared to developed countries like Singapore. 

Others add that there are lawyers who are making only RM1,800 a month. A job as such is usually seen as a high paying job.
