Minister Urges Hotels to Ensure 23-Hour Stays for Guests

Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has urged hotel operators to adjust check-in and check-out times to ensure guests enjoy a minimum of 23 hours per stay. He acknowledged concerns about staff shortages affecting room preparation but promised to liaise with relevant ministries to address this issue.

Tiong emphasised that 23-hour stays are common overseas and do not compromise accommodation quality. He advised hotel operators to prioritise customer satisfaction, which could lead to increased profits. Tiong also plans to facilitate the hiring of foreign workers and establish training courses to improve service quality in hotels.
