Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick has pledged to resign from the Cabinet if the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) files an appeal against the High Court’s ruling affirming Sabah’s constitutional right to 40% of federal revenue collected in the state.

Minister to quit

The UPKO president said the decision follows a resolution passed by the party’s Penampang Convention, which supports the court’s judgment and urges federal and state governments to finalise implementation within 180 days. Ewon said he bears full responsibility for the party’s stand and will reiterate his position at the upcoming Cabinet meeting.
