More pain for end of year as vegetable prices go up due to heavy rain

Malaysia is facing the usual continuous and heavy rain and this is impacting the production and delivery of products, causing a rise in vegetable prices while production cost also increases.

Local farmers, according to news sites, are forecasting that Cameron Highlands will see a drop of 20 per cent to 30 per cent in yield and it result in an additional increase in the prices of vegetables. So much for a happy new year?

In Johor, the Malaysia Federation of Vegetable Farmers Association also said the country could risk facing a food security problem should heavy rainfall continue. Apa macam.
