The Kota Bharu Islamic City Municipal Council (MPKB-BRI) will take strict action against local traders at Ramadan bazaars renting out or ‘selling’ their lots to foreign traders. Kelantan Local Government Committee chairman Hilmi Abdullah stated that licences or permits transferred to foreign nationals will be revoked, and the traders blacklisted.

MPKB-BRI oversees 478 trading lots at nine Ramadan bazaars, with each stall rental fee set at RM570. Authorities have received information about foreign traders using local licences. Hilmi emphasized that these foreigners often claim to be workers, but the reality is different.
