A social media user has warned the public about a suspected pickpocket incident near KLCC, particularly around the MRT Persiaran KLCC exit at Jalan Binjai.
In the post, the user claimed a woman approached him while talking on the phone and asked for directions to KLCC. After briefly responding and continuing on his way, he later realised his mobile phone was missing. The incident was only discovered upon reaching a nearby mosque, leading him to suspect a distraction tactic was used.
Netizens React, Urge Caution for MRT Users
The post drew widespread attention, with many users thanking the individual for sharing the warning. Some commenters suggested the incident may have involved a group working together to distract victims.
However, several comments also veered into broader generalisations about foreigners, sparking debate online. Others advised the public to stay alert in crowded areas, especially during peak hours and festive seasons.
Authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the alleged incident at the time of writing.
