Malaysia is accelerating its transformation into an AI-driven nation by 2030, with the Ministry of Digital spearheading infrastructure and tech adoption efforts.

Minister Gobind Singh Deo highlighted the country’s commitment at the SmartGov and MDX Summits 2025, noting AI’s growing role across industries. The digital economy is projected to contribute 25.5% to GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030.

The MDX Summit showcased Malaysia’s 5G capabilities and inclusive digital strategy. MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil emphasized action over exhibition, connecting global innovators and local talent. These efforts aim to position Malaysia as ASEAN’s leading digital hub with trillion-dollar potential.
