Malaysia’s Judges to Receive 30% Pay Rise in 2026

Malaysia’s judges will receive their first salary hike in a decade, with monthly pay rising by 30% from January 1, 2026. A government gazette confirmed new rates for eight judicial ranks, including RM46,800 for the Chief Justice, RM40,950 for the Court of Appeal President, and RM39,650 for both Chief Judges of Malaya and Sabah/Sarawak. 

Judges to Receive 30% Increment 

The latter post receives a 32% increase to match its counterpart. Federal Court judges will earn RM37,050, Court of Appeal judges RM35,750, and High Court judges RM34,450, while judicial commissioners will receive RM33,150. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the hike recognizes judicial integrity and independence.
