While Malaysians are still debating about a former Malaysian becoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Australia after the stunning Labour Party win last week, here’s another Malaysian who made it in Aussie land as an MP.
Sam Lim, 60, is a member of Parliament for the Tangney seat in Western Australia. He was born in Muar, Johor, and worked as a dolphin trainer until relocating to Australia in 2002.
Lim will join fellow Australian Labor Party senator and new Foreign Minister Penny Wong as Malaysian-born members of parliament in an increasingly diverse parliament.
