A Malaysian fresh graduate has shared her experience of a job interview that she said left her feeling “less confident” after she was allegedly criticised for lacking work experience.
Jane, a pseudonym, said she attended an interview that lasted almost an hour but felt more like an interrogation than a conversation. She claimed she was repeatedly interrupted while answering questions and was rarely given an opportunity to finish her thoughts.

According to Jane, the company also questioned her lack of experience despite knowing she was a fresh graduate. She said her internship had provided her with relevant experience and that she had even stated a low salary expectation while expressing her willingness to learn.
However, she claimed an interviewer told her, “This is not a college, this is a workplace.”
Jane also alleged that the company repeatedly discussed having “trust issues” with Gen Z employees because of previous staff members who allegedly displayed a poor attitude.
She later left a one-star Google review for the company.
Jane said she did not receive a follow-up for almost three weeks despite contacting the company herself. She encouraged other fresh graduates to trust their instincts and not allow a negative interview experience to discourage them from pursuing future opportunities.
