Former Bersatu Terengganu chairman Razali Idris has hinted that he will leave the party, saying he intends to move forward with a “new platform”. The development comes less than two months after Razali stepped down as Bersatu’s Terengganu chairman on August 8.
In a Facebook post, Razali said he had spent 10 years in the party’s leadership before announcing his departure. “Ten years as a Bersatu leader, today I stop. Insya-Allah, I will move forward with a new platform,” he said.

However, Razali did not disclose his reasons for leaving Bersatu or reveal which party or political platform he may join next. Last month, Razali said he remained a Bersatu member despite relinquishing his position as the party’s Terengganu chairman.
He had also denied speculation that he would join Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang), a component of Perikatan Nasional. Razali’s latest statement appears to mark a change from his position last month, when he maintained that he remained a member of Bersatu.
His next political move remains unclear, with no specific party or organisation identified in his latest Facebook post.
Razali previously held the position of Bersatu Terengganu chairman before stepping down in August, ending his tenure as the state party chief while remaining a member at the time.
