New: Muhyiddin Alleges Hamzah Planned ‘Backdoor’ Move to Become Deputy Prime Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhyiddin Yassin has alleged that former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin planned a political realignment aimed at securing the deputy prime minister’s post through cooperation with other parties. The Bersatu president confirmed that Hamzah had met UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, a meeting linked to the so-called “Bangkok Move”.

Muhyiddin Alleges

Muhyiddin described the alleged backdoor plan as a serious matter and among the reasons disciplinary action was taken against the Larut MP by the party’s disciplinary board. He claimed he had sought clarification within party channels over who met Zahid but received no response, adding that he possessed credible information identifying Hamzah
