A group of 20 undocumented Myanmar migrants, including four women, were arrested in Tumpat after allegedly paying RM8,000 each to human smugglers. The migrants, aged 19 to 36, were found in a house used as a transit point after entering Malaysia illegally via river routes.

Southeast Brigade PGA Commander, SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain, said the arrests were made during Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan following intelligence reports. Initial investigations revealed the migrants were brought through Thailand before crossing into Malaysia, intending to work as construction laborers. They were handed over to police for further action under the Immigration Act.
