The recent Budget 2027 has gained significant traction among Malaysians. However, one of the biggest discussions regarding the budget is from the opposition party. Perikatan Nasional mentioned that the recent budget isn’t the reform promised by the current government.
PN MP Syahir Sulaiman warned that Budget 2027’s RM461.8 billion allocation may fail to boost Malaysia’s economy, accusing Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s announcements of political undertones ahead of the next general election.
He called for political integrity, transparency, effective reforms and fair treatment of states to ensure meaningful economic progress.

Others have pointed fingers at the opposition party, accusing its members of “running away” from their parliamentary duties. Many have questioned the apparent contradiction of calling for reforms while allegedly failing to fulfil their responsibilities in Parliament and represent their constituents.
Users requested that they too should release a “shadow budget” in contrast to what the government published. Some social media users are doubting the opposition’s words hence the request for an alternative suggestion from them is wanted.
