1 min read

Recently, a viral post on X showing pictures of beer cans being sold as a promotional item right in the center of the center. However, many appear to be angry towards the situation and are asking if Malaysia is a “kafir” country. There are a number of debates from both ends of the spectrum.

Netizens unhappy with alcohol being sold openly

The X user who posted this states that it is against the law to openly promote alcoholic beverages like this. This is in response to some users stating that those who are uninterested with the product can close a blind eye towards it.

Others state that cigarettes are sold openly and are supposedly “haram” as well. However, some are saying that conservatives in Malaysia are merely following the opposition party when it comes to these religious rulings.
