This part of the article on Anwar and reforms in Malaysia is about a new era of civil society reforms.
In the 1980s it was also translated with, among others, the existence of the International Islamic University and the Islamic Bank. Even after the events of September 2, 1998, the idea of civil society received less attention.
Personally, the author also called to submit a Sarjana@Master thesis study at UKM, 2002, entitled Civil Society & Political Idealism.
In the early stages of the Reform Movement, the idea of civil society and its ideas were marked by the Permatang Pauh Declaration (1998). In it are summarized the issues of raising human dignity, justice for all, sovereign power of the people through democracy, economic justice, combating corruption and abuse of power, cultural identity and globalization based on truth and justice.
Thus, SCRIPT-MNM is DSAI’s pioneer in translating the idea of civil society in a more concrete form as well as related policies.
New Era: Build a better Malaysia
Against the backdrop of the current national and global scenario with economic turmoil, political crisis, and the Covid 19 pandemic, SCRIPT puts its vision “To build a sustainable and prosperous Malaysia based on care and compassion, mutual respect, innovation, and trust, where inclusiveness and equality is embraced by the whole nation – ultimately a just Malaysian society”.
DSAI committed to building a better Malaysia through SCRIPT-MNM with the affirmation “We must now move beyond empty and selfish pursuits of power, the myopic prejudices of the past, and the complacent shady money politics that has taken hold of Malaysia… ….Through strong and truthful leadership, my government will not only lead, but walk with its citizens, facing the trials of growth and carving out a solid ethical framework for its actions”.
A total of 36 Policy Priorities in building a Better Malaysia, especially after GE15, including reducing Minister’s salaries and expenses, eliminating tolls for B40, eliminating FELDA settler debt, disposing of PTPTN debt for B40, reforming a number of institutions, modernizing the university system and creating a Rural Center for the exploration of Agro Agriculture 4.0 and eco-tourism.

Therefore, the people of Malaysia, Alhamdulillah, are grateful for His Majesty the King’s Highness the Royal Highness to approve the appointment of YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia on 24 November 2022.
Also later, the appointment of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Unity Government coincided with the time for the country to reinvigorate the national economy, control the cost of living, strengthen the country’s direction, develop a Civilized Nation and at the same time boost Malaysia’s image at the international level.
