Lawyers for Liberty director Zaid Malek stated that there is no legal prohibition against admitting non-bumiputera students into Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Zaid emphasized that allowing non-bumiputera enrollment in UiTM courses is constitutional and argued that misinterpretations of Article 153 for political purposes have harmed national unity and disadvantaged non-bumiputera, contrary to the Constitution’s intent.
