Perikatan Nasional has decided that a PAS MP will replace Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin as Opposition Leader, with the name to be announced before the end of March. Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar confirmed Hamzah will remain in the role until PAS finalises its choice.

The decision was made during Ahmad Samsuri’s first supreme council meeting, which also appointed Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin as electoral director, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as treasurer, and Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan as secretary-general. Former minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa was named information chief.
