PAS, which is in the government headed by Umno’s PM Ismail Sabri Yaakob teamed up with Bersatu, the party of fallen PM Muhyiddin Yassin in the Malacca elections. PAS did not win a single seat, but its support may have gotten Bersatu the two seats the party won.
Now, Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, a senior PAS member and member of the party’s central committee, has joined growing calls for PAS to work with Umno on Wednesday (Nov 24).
He said it was time for a political realignment, reminding top PAS leaders that the party should “lick its wounds” and join forces with the Malay-centric party after the Malacca polls.
