In a strategic push to win over non-Malay voters, PAS, a Malay-Muslim based party, is seizing a new opportunity as dissatisfaction with the Pakatan Harapan government grows louder. PAS vice-president Amar Abdullah, in a recent Malaysiakini interview in Kota Bharu, noted a shift: non-Malays are increasingly vocal in criticizing Harapan on social media. “Our campaigns haven’t fully reached this group—maybe only 30 percent,” he admitted. To bridge the gap, PAS aims to craft a compelling narrative for the next general election. Amar stressed the challenge: many non-Malays dislike both Harapan and PAS. The party is now focused on developing a persuasive approach to attract these voters to their side.
