SHAH ALAM, April 6, 2025 – Pemuda UMNO, under Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, has pledged to defend “abang belon,” a balloon vendor allegedly mistreated by DBKL officers during a raid on unlicensed traders at Jalan TAR. Despite his 13 drug-related criminal records, Dr Akmal insists the focus is on the injustice faced, not his past. “We’re defending him because he was wronged while working, treated harshly,” he said. “Even 100 records don’t justify oppression.” He criticized selective outrage, noting silence when elites are involved. Three police investigations are underway, with two submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.
