Penang has not been affected by concerns over cloned Musang King durians failing to meet export standards, due to its well-managed and mature cultivation practices. State authorities said most Musang King trees in Penang are over a decade old, resulting in more consistent quality that meets export requirements.

Monitoring by relevant agencies indicates no dumping in the local market, as the current durian season has yet to begin. The trees are presently in the flowering stage, with the first harvest expected by the end of April 2026. The state will continue close oversight to safeguard farmers, traders, and market stability.
