PKR postponed its central leadership election nominations from May 3-4 to May 8-9 (a week is long in politics), as announced by central election committee chairperson Dr Zaliha Mustafa. No reasons were provided for the delay, with nominations now set to occur online. Meanwhile, discontent brews within the party following divisional election losses for deputy president Rafizi Ramli’s allies, including ministers Nik Nazmi and Adam Adli. Amid complaints of voting irregularities, Rafizi reportedly took a brief “leave.” Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, PKR’s president, appointed independent auditors to probe the polls, while rumours of a cabinet reshuffle persist despite denials from Anwar and DAP’s Anthony Loke.
