Plane crashes in Nepal and according to Reuters, the Yeti Airlines tragedy has claimed the lives of at least 68 passengers. It is now the deadliest aviation accident to occur in the nation in the past 30 years.
On January 15, 2023, a plane carrying 72 people crashed near Pokhara, Nepal. The BBC reports that hundreds of Nepalese soldiers are participating in rescue efforts at the accident site, which is less than two kilometres from the airport and is located in the Seti River gorge.

According to airline spokeswoman Sudarshan Bartaula, the twin-engine ATR 72 aircraft operated by Yeti Airlines was departing from Kathmandu, the nation’s capital. The plane was carrying 2 infants and 10 foreign nationals.
