Rafizi allies fall in PKR elections

1 min read

Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasrullah Nasir, a key ally of PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, was ousted as the division’s PKR chief, losing to former Johor Bahru PKR Youth chief Taufiq Ismail, 587 to 709 votes. This marks another defeat for Rafizi’s camp in the ongoing PKR division polls, following losses by allies like Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and others. Despite Rafizi winning uncontested in Pandan, the disputed poll results have sparked controversy, with PKR’s central leadership council set to address alleged irregularities on Wednesday. Akmal, deputy minister of energy transition, is the latest high-profile casualty.
