Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi praised the resignations of Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli and Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad as principled, following their defeats in the 2025 PKR party elections. Rafizi lost the PKR Deputy President post to Nurul Izzah Anwar, while Nik Nazmi failed to secure a Vice President position. Their resignations, effective June 17 and July 4, were accepted by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who holds sole authority to appoint successors. Ahmad Zahid lauded their significant contributions and support for Cabinet decisions.
