Two PKR MPs scramble to deny withdrawing support for PMX

1 min read

Two PKR MPs, including Chang Lih Kang, the PKR vice-president and science, technology, and innovation minister, have dismissed allegations that they and nine other PKR MPs have withdrawn support for PKR president and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Chang called the claims “ridiculous” and clarified that the resignations of Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi from the cabinet were made out of decorum and democratic spirit. The allegations stem from a viral WhatsApp screenshot and a Facebook post by blogger Papagomo, claiming 11 PKR MPs withdrew support and planned a media conference on May 30, 2025. The MPs named are:

  • Rafizi (Pandan)
  • Nik Nazmi (Setiawangsa)
  • Chang (Tanjung Malim)
  • Tan Kar Hing (Gopeng)
  • Akmal Nasrullah Nasir (Johor Bahru)
  • Wong Chen (Subang)
  • Zahir Hassan (Wangsa Maju)
  • Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (Ledang)
  • Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya)
  • Onn Abu Bakar (Batu Pahat)
  • Aminuddin Harun (Port Dickson)
