Group to rally against Batu Arang incinerator on Jan 21

The Rawang Tolak Incinerator Network (RTI) expressed disappointment with the Selangor government’s silence regarding their pleas to halt the incinerator plant construction in Batu Arang. Despite multiple attempts to engage with officials like Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and state exco member Ng Suee Lim, the community’s calls for dialogue went unanswered.

In response, RTI announced a second protest rally on Jan 21, criticizing the officials for their unresponsiveness. Spokesperson Abdul Hanan Abd Mokti stressed the community’s desire for dialogue and reconsideration, emphasizing the importance of involving residents in decisions impacting their lives and environment.
