Rising Diesel Costs Hit Philanthropist’s Ambulance Service

Philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang, has announced that his People’s Ambulance service will reduce interstate and outstation trips due to rising diesel costs. 

People’s Ambulance Struggles With 5,000-Litre Diesel Gap

The initiative, which has long provided medical assistance to underprivileged communities across Malaysia, is struggling to cope despite receiving subsidised fuel. Uncle Kentang revealed that the service is short of nearly 5,000 litres of diesel, forcing difficult decisions to limit operations outside Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. 

He expressed regret over the inconvenience caused, stressing that the move was unavoidable given the recent hike in fuel prices and the heavy financial burden.
