Allegedly, during the Perhimpunan UMNO netizens are shocked to find out that the price of a simple meal is astronomical for what it is. A photo of the menu was uploaded online showing the prices of each meal where a nasi goreng is RM35 and a glass of cold teh tarik is RM18.
RM35 for Nasi Goreng UMNO?
Social media users argue that if prices are aligned with both portion size and quality, then there should be no issue. However, the use of laminated menus has raised doubts about whether customers will actually receive what is advertised.
Several comments criticize the listed prices, while at the same time acknowledging the limited time these sellers have during the event to serve customers.
Some were upset at the fact that a simple nasi goreng kampung is suddenly called “nasi goreng desa.”
Users are making harsh claims towards the political party claiming that they’re now “robbing” their own members with such prices.
Others say if the prices are too exorbitant for some, it would be best to eat at an alternative location. There are several restaurants in the area, namely Sunway Putra Mall, where the prices are probably much more reasonable.
