Leaders of Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Sabah have called on the federal government to respect the High Court-mandated timeline for addressing Sabah’s long-standing claim to 40 % of net revenue derived from the state’s natural resources, urging swift action ahead of a technical committee meeting scheduled for Feb 23 involving federal and state representatives.

The PH leadership’s demands underscore growing impatience with delays in revenue disbursements dating back to 1974 under the Malaysia Agreement, arguing that honouring the court’s deadlines is crucial to upholding constitutional rights and restoring trust in federal-state cooperation.
The upcoming technical committee meeting — involving representatives from the federal government as well as Sabah and Sarawak — is expected to review implementation steps and discuss financial arrangements to ensure that the 40 % net revenue share is allocated as ordered by the High Court.
