Saifuddin appoints Azam Ab Rahman as special advisor on Afghanistan

Commissioner to the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ahmad Azam Ab Rahman is now the foreign minister’s special advisor on Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said with his extensive network with non-profit organisations (NGO) and Muslim leaders worldwide, Azam will be able to help in facilitating Malaysian NGOs’ humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

Saifuddin said Azam, who is also chairperson of Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM), has vast experience in Afghanistan and this will help Wisma Putra to facilitate humanitarian efforts by Malaysian NGOs.
