Mohamed Salah scored the decisive goal as Egypt defeated Côte d’Ivoire 3-2 in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals, ending the Ivorians’ reign as champions. Omar Marmoush opened the scoring early before Rami Rabia doubled Egypt’s lead.
Salah Strike
Côte d’Ivoire responded through an own goal by Ahmed Fatouh and a late strike from Guéla Doué, but Salah’s composed finish after the break proved decisive. Egypt, despite limited possession, advanced to face Senegal in the semi-finals. In the other quarter-final, goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams secured Nigeria a deserved 2-0 victory over Algeria.
