Two heroic search-and-rescue dogs from Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue Department have returned to assist in locating victims of the recent sinkhole near Masjid India. Arriving at 5 p.m. on August 27, the K9 unit is deployed on the fifth day of the operation to find missing persons.
SAR DOGS
These dogs, known for their expertise in detecting both live victims and deceased bodies, had previously been sent to Turkey for 14 days in February to aid in earthquake recovery efforts, and were also instrumental in the Batang Kali landslide rescue last year. The current operation is searching for Vijayaletchumy, a 48-year-old Indian tourist feared to have fallen into the sinkhole.
