Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari announced that executive councillor for agriculture Izham Hashim will meet Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on Monday to explain the state’s plan to centralise pig farming in Bukit Tagar, Hulu Selangor.

The proposal, covering 202ha with a closed farming system and zero emissions, aims to manage the industry cleanly, improve waste handling, and prevent environmental and odour pollution. The sultan had earlier expressed disagreement, calling large-scale pig farming unnecessary and insensitive in a Muslim-majority state.
