Dr. Awang Azman Pawi, from the University of Malaya, predicts that the ruling party, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in Malaysia will maintain its grip over the state of Selangor and will win more seats than in the last election. Selangor to remain a PH stronghold, the analyst believes.

He states that the rise of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the Prime Minister of Malaysia will contribute to the strength of PKR and the ruling coalition, Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming state polls.
He also mentions that a possible alliance between PH and the Barisan Nasional (BN) could pull more votes, but may raise concerns over the seats held by BN, in an interview to a local online portal.
