The Selangor government has pledged assistance for Kampung Jawa residents in Klang displaced by the West Coast Expressway (WCE) project. State housing and culture committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said 21 applications under the Smart Rent Scheme are being reviewed, including 19 families who vacated homes on November 24.

Temporary housing will be provided with strict monitoring, and deposits may be waived by deducting from rental costs. The scheme may extend up to a year, costing RM200,000 if rent-free. Four housing sites within 10km of Kampung Papan have been identified, while land compensation discussions remain between WCE and landowners.
