1 min read

It appears that e-commerce giant, Shopee is to stop giving commissions to their affiliate sellers. Apparently, netizens are stating an example of these affiliate sellers are those who have viral tweets and are promoting shopee links for others to purchase. Hence, they then would receive a small commission fee from that.

Shopee no longer giving commissions?

Twitter users are now poking fun of Abudi Alsagoff,  a renowned Twitter influencer who has tweets that are constantly viral. Furthermore, users are stating that he constantly promotes Shopee products under his viral tweets.

For now, it is not entirely known why the e-commerce platform is stopping this, and they have stopped receiving new applications since the end of May. The commission rates for new buyers were significantly high, as it might reach up to 15% for certain products.

However, according to Shopee’s website, they claim that they are stopping the Seller Affiliate program. This means that their ambassadors and non-sellers will still continue to receive commissions.
